Congratulations to our Ktechnics for a top four overall team finish at the Rufus King regional’s competition today!  They were awarded the first place award (only one handed out) in Core Values and they are one of 7 teams advancing to sectionals in Waukesha on 12/10/16.

You can follow them on Twitter @KtechnicsFLL and Facebook: Save the Hive and on their webpage.

Our students are starting to use our new Innovation Lab!!!

This lab was possible through our Fit for Growth Endowment fund, Dr. Andersson’s amazing budgeting skills, and our wonderful partnerships with Snap-On Tools and Leeward Business Advisors.  But there are still tools we would love our students to have. A Glowforge 3D Laser Printer is first on our list.  This is an amazing tool.  KTEC students are already using Autodesk Inventor and 3D printing their designs.  The laser printer will allow them to cut and etch the amazing designs they create.  Watch this amazing video.

This year, National Junior and Elementary Honor Society partnered together to help students in our school community by creating ornaments of needed items and toys for families this holiday season. If you would like to help out, stop in the office, pick up a tag from the tree to purchase a gift for that child. After taking an ornament, please speak with an office staff member who will take down your contact information and the ornament number you  received.

All wrapped gifts are due back by December 12 to the office of the campus which

you picked it up from.

Thank you for partnering with us to help make the holidays special for all of our children.

Help keep our KTEC family connected!  We have started a KTEC Alumni Facebook page.  It is a place for students past and present, their families, and KTEC staff to share positive, appropriate memories and photos from their time at KTEC.  We would also love to know what our graduates are up to now.  Click here to request an invite

Every month we will be focusing on one particular character trait.  All month students will discuss what the trait looks like in their lives and how they can apply it.  The student from each classroom who demonstrates this trait the best will receive a Character Paw charm at the quarterly award assemblies. We encourage you to talk about these character traits at home.

November Character Trait:

Respect is thinking and acting in a positive way about yourself and others that shows that you care about everyone’s feelings and well being. Showing respect promotes healthy friendships.

KTEC has many ways to share all the things going on. If you click on the social media links at the top right of this page, you can see students at work, great information about STEM and education, and get reminders & updates about KTEC and community events.

Our KTEC Facebook Page has daily posts with photos and videos of students, event reminders, and other relevant information.

13248505_1292409264120310_343415580170784826_o Important Information from Dr. Andersson and KUSD

I want to make all students and staff aware of a new state statute enacted in April 2016 regarding threats of harm against any person. Act 311 generally states that any individual who makes real or false claims regarding shootings, bomb threats or to cause any other bodily harm to others is guilty of a Class I felony. Since its enactment, local law enforcement has started charging individuals, including students, in line with Act 311 if they have made threats against our schools. Making threats is not a joking matter and individuals may face fines and/or imprisonment for their actions, whether intentional or not. Do not ruin your future by making a threats, it is not funny or commendable.
