Do you want to parade your KTEC pride?

You are invited to participate in the Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade this Sunday, July 3rd representing KTEC!

As you know, Leeward Business Advisers has become a valuable supporter of KTEC, offering our students free programs like CODE Club and the Junior Achievement Company Program.  They have also committed to donate technology to our Innovation Lab.  They are strong supporters of STEM education early and often and have a commitment to giving back to community through supporting education.

LeewardBA is sponsoring the “Kids of Wisconsin” performers in the parade.

(The Kids From Wisconsin includes some of the state’s most talented performers ages 15-20. They perform a diverse repertoire of morale-boosting music at venues throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. Following the parade, the group will perform a free concert from 3:30-5 p.m. at Celebrate America on the Midway Stage, located on the 5600 block of Third Avenue.)

They would like to promote community partnerships with education to provide students with hands-on, real-world experiences.  They are inviting KTEC students, families and staff to walk in the parade behind The Kids From Wisconsin performers. It is an opportunity to show KTEC’s appreciation of our partners (LeewardBA, Carthage College, Snap-On Tools), highlight the amazing things our students have accomplished (Code Club’s Software program and JA Company Program participants’ company “MEME Corp.) as well as promote the KTEC mission to our community.

If you would like to walk in the parade showing your KTEC pride, contact Kristen Kief at or 262-359-7133 as soon as possible.

The link below will give you more details about the parade.  You will be provided more information when you sign up to participate!

After the parade, enjoy all of the fun activities and booths that the Kenosha Harborpark Celebration has to offer!

Stop by the LeewardBA booth to talk with some KTEC students and enter a raffle to win VIP seating for the fireworks on the 4th!  Leeward is donating all of the raffle profits to KTEC in support of our new Innovation Lab.

I want to make all students and staff aware of a new state statute enacted in April 2016 regarding threats of harm against any person. Act 311 generally states that any individual who makes real or false claims regarding shootings, bomb threats or to cause any other bodily harm to others is guilty of a Class I felony. Since its enactment, local law enforcement has started charging individuals, including students, in line with Act 311 if they have made threats against our schools. Making threats is not a joking matter and individuals may face fines and/or imprisonment for their actions, whether intentional or not. Do not ruin your future by making a threats, it is not funny or commendable.

Don’t let your child experience the “summer slide!”  Learning doesn’t need to stop just because the school year does. There are many ways to keep your child’s brain sharp over the summer.  Our KTEC resource page has links to tons of educational websites and other learning tools.

You can also find great projects and fun learning websites on the KTEC Pinterest page.
